Real talk about Capsule Wardrobe Guide
last week I tried Capsule Wardrobe Guide… and girl, it was a journey.
I spent $300+ on clothes from Aritzia and tbh, half of it is going back.
So, the idea is cool. Like, minimize ur wardrobe to maximize outfits.
I started by picking a color palette: black, white, grey, and a pop of olive green. Super basic, I know.
I found a great basic white tee at Uniqlo for $14.90. Can’t beat that price.
Also got a black blazer from Zara for $79.90. It’s actually perf.
The oversized fit is exactly what I wanted. Vogue has some similar blazer styles rn.
Okay, the ‘perfect’ pair of jeans? A myth.
I ordered 3 pairs online, all different brands (Madewell, Everlane, Levi’s) and they all fit horribly. I totally messed this up.
One pair was too tight, one was too long, and the other was just… unflattering. Back they go.
Also, those ‘essential’ nude heels everyone raves about? $98 at Nordstrom and they gave me blisters within an hour. Hard pass.

ngl, I found some winners I wasn’t expecting.
A simple black slip dress from H&M ($29.99) is surprisingly versatile. Can dress it up or down.
Also, a grey cashmere sweater from Everlane ($120) is SO comfy and warm. Worth the investment.
I also found a silk scarf at a vintage store for like $10. Adds a pop of color and personality.
Accessories are KEY. Like, literally.
A few simple necklaces, some gold hoops, and a cool belt can transform an outfit.
Also, don’t be afraid to mix and match. The whole point is to create different looks with the same pieces.
I saw a cute belt at Mango for $39.99. Might cop that.
Layering is also crucial. A denim jacket, a cardigan, or even a scarf can add dimension.

So, does it actually work? Kinda.
It’s definitely forced me to be more mindful of my purchases and think about versatility.
But it’s also not a magic fix. You still need to find pieces that fit your body and your personal style.
Lowkey, I’m still figuring it out. Don’t expect perfection right away.
It’s a process, not a destination. Plus, I added like 3 new shirts this week… oops.

Sort of. Depends on your style.

Sometimes. Good for minimalists.
